Russian forces has escalated strikes on electrical systems over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "real steps" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the US, European nations and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and applying restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 missiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A wave of strikes struck power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, according to city authorities.
